They say that there are two types of knowledge.

First, there is Head Knowledge, where we intellectually understand the concept of something.

This is the knowing of it....

Second there is Heart Knowledge where that mental concept drops into our heart, and here there is a faith, a trust that allows the learning to drop more deeply into our being.

This is where the Ah-ha! moments are....

When a dear friend, and counsellor took me through the following exercise I experienced the concept of the addiction cycle dropping from my head into my heart.

Many so-called “addicts” or addiction patients out there considering rehab treatment for drug and alcohol addiction typically wish to know how much such programs will cost them.

It will definitely cost you quite a bit to undergo drug and alcohol rehab. It’s not usually available to you for free.

If you’re balking at the price of rehab and would rather go at it cold turkey, you probably shouldn’t, especially if you’re a severe alcoholic.

You definitely need to undergo the rehabilitation process to prevent the potentially life-threatening withdrawal symptoms associated with alcoholism or even certain drug addictions when you go cold turkey.

Addiction or substance dependence is difficult to cope with. It obviously generates a negative impact in multiple areas of an addicted person’s life.

The same could be said about the ongoing COVID-19, Covid, or coronavirus pandemic around the world.

Every time lockdown happens in a city, region, state, province, or country, it becomes tougher for a substance abuse patient to find help when it comes to overcoming their sobriety issues.

They can’t get out of their homes and they might O.D. in there depending on their stash or supply of illicit drugs or alcohol.
